Le Temps Écrasé
Nadia, a Kafrine* from Réunion, Alain, a Zorey* from Marseille, together we question our desire for history. From one hemisphere to another, we set out in search of our ancestors. To listen to the echoes of the forces of life and survival inscribed in our genealogies. Reunion Island, where we live, has been marked by 250 years of official and clandestine slave trade, slavery, and then indentured servitude. After being filmed, we decide to film each other by passing the camera and the microphone back and forth. This history has shaped all of our family histories. Have we truly overcome our fears and denials ?
